PORTRAIT OF A YOGINI
"I met Anne quite by chance in Annecy. She was sitting at the next table in a restaurant with friends. And as always, I believe in
great encounters. Our conversations were mixed and we exchanged about yoga. Immediately I sensed in her something special.
It emerges from Anne a beautiful and communicative energy, beautiful light and especially inner peace. Anne is Energy Healer and practices yoga. I asked her if she would agree to answer my little quiz for you to share her yoga practice. Anne has accepted without hesitation. I therefore share her experience today." A big thank you Patricia Nagelmackers @Tayronalife for this portrait!
HOW DID YOU START TO TAKE CARE OF YOU?
I've always been « highly sensitive ». And I used to attract slightly toxic relationships (friendship, love, etc.) that drain me from my energy and where I would lose myself. I gave a lot, certainly too much, or at least, I did not give myself as much. I was looking for love outside of me and not within me. I started a big introspection because I wanted to understand myself better, learn to love myself and be happy.
I was always very interested by all alternative energy methods, therefore well-being was key in my research. This research has intensified over the years and it was after a hypnosis session that everything started to fall into place. Very soon after this session, Reiki came into my life and I experienced an intense spiritual awakening. Energy healing brought me a lot and helped me refocusing on myself, aligning myself and focus on my mission in life.
So I decided, after a career in marketing in the cosmetics, to train in hypnosis and NLP during an intensive course in NYC throughout the Summer 2016. In addition to preparing myself for a new career, this training enriched me highly and made me grow at all the levels of my being. All the pieces came together. I then spent my Reiki Master level in November in Bali where I spent 2 months to find myself physically, emotionally and spiritually.
At this time also yoga really entered my life as an essential support to my well-being. I had already practiced but I was not receptive to the benefits of this practice. I was not ready. Now I am. I met myself, I learned to accept and love myself, to be more tolerant, soft to me and to really take care of me.
WHAT IS YOUR WELL-BEING PRACTICE?
My practice has to be filled with moments that fulfill me and make me feel good overall: physically, emotionally or spiritually. Yoga allows that. It also allows me to be listening, caring, learning and laughing sometimes too!
My first passion is traveling. I lived abroad many times and I travel a lot around worldwide energy healing techniques. Traveling allows me to feel things more intensely, to be in the here and now, to experiment, discover, meet, to open myself and to grow. This is essential to my well-being.
Yoga gives me this escape. Each course is like a journey ... to me. I like to be in motion and depending on the practice, there is always a new teaching, a different flow, a rhythm to discover, another energy, a new opening toward myself.
WHAT IS THE RITUAL OF YOUR PRACTICE?
Being a nomad soul, I find my stability in instability, when I'm outside my comfort zone, in challenges and therefore in flexibility. So I prefer not to tie myself to a ritual. I personally find a ritual alienating and limiting. I think my real power and my potential are in expansion, freedom and instinct. I remain open to any opportunities that may arise without depending on a place, a person, a structure, or a habit ...
The first thing I learned in yoga is that my physical condition is different at each practice. Not having a ritual allows me to respect myself more, understand my limitations, to accept or on the contrary, to push and challenge myself and in all cases, to be listening, open and kind towards myself.
WHAT DO YOU GET FROM THAT?
I get a great adaptability. I feel a little at home everywhere! And above all, I get many learnings, changing my practice according to my intuition, my desire, my feelings, the moment, the energy of a place, of a person and especially according to my energy. I get a lot of freedom, a fulfillment.
WHAT DO YOU TAKE IN YOUR YOGA BAG?
The nomad that I am tries to travel as light as possible. In addition, for me, the practice of yoga is synonymous with simplicity and being myself. So I take what I consider to be essential ... a bottle of water.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ACCESSORY/OBJECT?
Through my travels, I had special connections with certain objects. These connections changed progressively through encounters, teachings .... I got a beautiful Mala in India that I love and that I use in meditations.
However, as the rituals, I think it's limiting to give a part of my power in an object. I am my own master and I have within me all the resources essential to my development, my protection, my elevation. I try as much as I can to access these resources consciously rather than to externalize them. So I try not to attach myself to objects, but rather to the resources that I have in me. However, I received a beautiful necklace from my grandmother years after she passed away and this is very important for me so if I have to whose one it will be this one :).
WHAT WOULD BE YOUR ADVICE FOR TAYRONA’S YOGINIS?
Early in my practice I did not understand why teachers would not help me more and correct me. I felt frustrated. Little by little, and especially thanks to my training in hypnosis and NLP, I realized that a good teacher is not there to correct me, but to empower me in my sensations, my practice, my self-healing. Thus, it pushes me to refocus, align myself, be in the present moment to feel the posture and integrate when the position is correct, in my body. He is the co-pilot, I am the pilot.
WHERE / HOW DO YOU PRACTICE?
Mostly in studios/yoga centers or during retreats for the moment. I like to feel the energy of a group, follow a teacher. However, I would like to slowly begin to practice more regularly and develop a more autonomous practice. It will enable me to be more regular in my practice. It would bring also bring me more freedom to be able to practice anywhere, even when traveling. Nomad Yoga is definitely a yoga that suits me. So the development of apps is a great news for me :)!
WHAT IS YOUR MANTRA/FAVORITE QUOTE?
It is a mantra that I discovered lately thanks to a friend and that accompanies me every day now. It is a powerful healing mantra.
THE MANTRA OF THE BUDDHA MEDICINE

Radza Samudgate Soha
May the many sentient beings who are sick
Quickly be freed from sickness
And may all the sicknesses of beings
